FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Who are eiligible for direct admission for CCNA course?

Answer: Answer: There are four categories of students who are eligible to get admission directly without admission test, they will be admitted as first-come-first-serve basis during admission process. The rest of the students must appear in an admission test and have to pass to get admitted in the program. The four categories of students who will be directly admitted are as follows:

  • A graduate/BSc in any Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Civil, etc.)/Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Math, etc.) from any university
  • A student in any Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Civil, etc.)/Science subject (Physics, Chemistry, Math, etc.) from any university
  • An information technology professional having two years of experience (programmer, network engineer, system analyst, software engineer, system administrator)
However, they must apply online properly, just like other applicants during the admission process. They will be directly admitted as first-come-first-serve basis.


Q. I am a BSc graduate in Computer Science/Information Technologies/ Telecommunication/ any Engineering/ applied physics from any reputed university. Do I need to sit for the admission test for CCNA course?

Answer: NO. However, they must apply online properly, just like other applicants. They will be directly admitted during admission process as first-come-first-serve basis.


Q. I am a BSc student from any department of BUET. Do I need to sit for the admission test for CCNA course?

Answer: No. BUET BSc Engg./ MSc Engg. students are eligible for direct admission into the program without any admission test. However, they must apply online properly, just like other applicants.


Q. What is the qualification for applying for CCNA admission test?

Answer: (a) Basic computer skill (b) At least Higher Secondary Certificates (HSC) or equivalent from any institution. (c) No third division/class in Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination or equivalent.


Q. How long will be the total CCNA course length?

Answer: There will be three classes per week. There will be THREE semesters to be completed in a span of approximately seven months.


Q. How much do I need to pay to complete the CCNA course (three semesters)?

Answer: There will be three semesters to be completed in a span of seven months. The semester fees are paid at the beginning of each semester. There are admission fee Tk 1,500/- and three semester fees Tk 36,000/- (Tk 12,000/- for each semester). Therefore, Tk 37,500/- altogether.


Q. What type of questions are set in CCNA admission test?

Answer: Subjects included in the admission test will be, (i) Quantitative and Analytical Aptitude (30 questions), (ii) English (reading comprehension, 10 questions), (iii) Basics of Computer Usage (20 questions).


Q. How to apply online for CCNA admission test?

Answer: To apply online, please follow the steps below:

  • (i) There will be “Apply Online” link active before the admission test. Click that link.
  • (ii) Fill up the online admission form properly and press the "Submit" button. A pdf version of the receipt for application fee will be available for download.
  • (iii) Download the .pdf file and print it on an A4 size paper.
  • (iv) Submit the printed hard copy of the receipt in the office of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (West Palashi Academic Building, 3rd Floor, West Wing) along with a cash payment of Tk 350/- (three hundred and fifty only). Your part of the receipt will act as the admit card during admission test.


Q. Where to pay for the CCNA admission test fee Tk 350/- and the receipt?

Answer: The admission test fee Tk 350/- to the officers of CSE, BUET (CSE office, Level 3, ECE Building). He will note down your payment and let us know.


Q. How much I have to pay if I want to get admitted for the first time in the first semester of CCNA course?

Answer: For admission, the candidate will need to bring Bank Draft/Pay Order of Tk 13,500/-(thirteen thousand and five hundred) payable to “Director, BRTC, BUET”. This fee consits of admission fee Tk 1,500/- and semester one fee Tk 12,000/-. Note that BRTC not BTRC.


Q. What is CCNA admission fee?

Answer: The admission fee is Tk 1,500/- that is required to get admitted to the course after successfully passing the admission test. The admission fee must be paid only for the first semester.


Q. How to pay the admission or semester fee of CCNA course?

Answer: Make the bank draft/pay order of the required money from any bank and give the original copy to one of the officers of CSE, BUET (CSE office, Level 3, ECE Building). He will note down your payment and let us know. Note that the working days of CSE, BUET are (Sat to Wed).


Q. Can I make bank draft from any bank?

Answer: Yes, you can make the bank draft from any bank you like in favor of “Director, BRTC, BUET”.


Q. Can admission fee (Tk 1,500/-) and semester fee (Tk 12,000/-) be paid in one bank draft for CCNA course?

Answer: Yes, you can make a single bank draft worth Tk 13,500/-(= Tk 1,500/- + Tk 12,000/-) from any bank you like and the amount is payable to “Director, BRTC, BUET”.


Q. I was admitted in CCNA course but discontinued for unavoidable reason. How can I continue again from where I left?

Answer: You can continue from where you left subject to the availability of ongoing semester you intend to continue. Keep an eye on our homepage/ news section for your intended offered semester. Contact the LMC to join again with the any current semester.


Q. I was admitted to the academy in CCNA course but discontinued for unavoidable reason. Can I get any kind of certificate of my completed semesters?

Answer: As soon as you pass a semester, you can download your own certificate from your online account. Cisco will provide you online account. Print the downloaded certificate and get our signatures. However, we provide a consolidated certificate for those who will complete four semesters from our department side by side with the online certificates.


Q. Can I take CCNA/CCNAS vendor certification exams from the academy?

Answer: Unfortunately, NO. We do not host any vendor certification exam and we are not an official test center.
