SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

1. Enhancing post graduate research capability
   • To provide financial support and research training of three M.Sc. and three Ph.D. students at the department of CSE, BUET. Through research training in the department and research visits at the foreign universities, they will become capable of:
     • Building a remote health monitring service and ICT enabled infrastructures for patient caring and day-to-day health advisory system in the context of Bangladesh.
     • Building and prototyping personally carried/wearable health instruments and sensors to monitor a patient, and transmit useful data (i.e., vital signs) to remote physician for possible recommendation and treatment action.
     • Building smart phone based individual's health data repository which would enable individuals to keep records of personal health data.
   • To attract additional research grants at the national and international level in distant health care research using ICT and making the department of CSE, BUET a post graduate research hub in the proposed field of research.
2. Enhancing post graduate research laboratory
   • To improve the wireless networking laboratory at the department of CSE, BUET, with state-of-the-art health monitoring wireless equipment to conduct innovative postgraduate research and create intellectual properties as needed.
3. Organizing fellowship to visiting professor
   • To award fellowship to visiting professor in order to enhance reearch collaboration in the proposed field of research study.
4. Enhancing research collaboration of faculty members
   • Enhancing the research capacity of the faculty members through training in the courses needed for building ICT interfaces, instrumentation and infrastructure for remote health monitoring.
   • Enhancing research collaboration with the foreign university research professor through research stays and the academic visits at the foreign university laboratories in the proposed area of research.
5. Dissemination of research findings and exchanging research ideas
   • Enriching research presentation skill of M.Sc./Ph.D. and/or faculty members.
   • Enhancing platform for collaborative reserach.
