Sadia Sharmin

Dr. Sadia Sharmin

Sadia Sharmin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

She completed her PhD in August 2014 from the Department of Informatics at the University of Bergen, Norway, under the supervision of Fredrik Manne and Jan Arne Telle. Her doctoral research addressed practical aspects of graph width parameters. She completed her BSc in November 2006 and MSc in December 2009 from CSE, BUET.

Her research interests include graph algorithms and their applications, information systems, ICT for development, artificial intelligence, parallel programming, and human-computer interaction.

Atif Hasan Rahman

Dr. Atif Hasan Rahman

Atif Hasan Rahman is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

He completed his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015 under the supervision of Lior Pachter. His research area is bioinformatics and computational biology, with a current focus on statistical methods for genome assembly and analysis. He received a Fulbright Science and Technology Fellowship in 2009.

Md. Nurul Muttakin

Md. Nurul Muttakin

Md. Nurul Muttakin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He holds an MSc and BSc in CSE from BUET.

His research interests include graph machine learning, community detection, graph neural networks, and fairness in machine learning. His research focuses on developing robust and effective machine learning methods for graph-based applications, with publications in Springer LNCS and IEEE conferences.

He also has industry experience as a Machine Learning Engineer and has been involved in research, teaching, student mentoring, and Bangladesh Government-funded academic and research projects.
