CSE Faculty Member Awarded BAS-Gold Medal:
Dr. M. Sohel Rahman, an Assistant Professor of the Department of Computer
Science & Engineering (CSE), BUET, has been selected for the prestigious
BAS-Gold Medal Award-2008 in Physical Sciences (Junior Group) by Bangladesh
Academy of Sciences in recognition of his excellent contribution in research.
Dr. Rahman's areas of research include algorithms, stringology, bioinformatics
and natural computing. So far he has published more than 40 research articles
in refereed international journals and conference proceedings. He is a member
of the Association of Computability in Europe (CiE) and a Senior Member of the
International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology
(IACSIT). In recognition of his excellence in research Dr Rahman has been
honoured with the status of Visiting Research Fellow of Kings College London
of which he is a graduate.
