Biography
Md Tarikul Islam Papon is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Boston University in the fields of Data Management. He has been focusing on hardware-aware data management challenges, stemming from the evolution of storage and memory devices. Currently, he is working on proposing a new I/O model, and a new design paradigm, for interacting with durable storage that takes into account performance asymmetry between read and write operations, as well as the variable access concurrency that different devices may support. Before starting his Ph.D., he served as a lecturer for 4 years at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He obtained his M.Sc. and B.Sc. degree from the same department.
