Proposed Post-Graduate Programs in Cyber Security

Program Overview:

Cyber security is a very important field that has become indispensable in the computing arena. In recent years, as well as in the upcoming years, numerous systems are going through automation and connectivity with cyberspace resulting in opening them up to cyber security concerns. Examples of such systems include, but are not limited to, government online solutions, online educational solutions, social media, the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles, biological systems, etc. Accordingly, it has become inevitable to consider cyber security as one of the fundamental pillars of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR).

Even after having the widespread and ever-growing coverage of cyber security in today’s world, Bangladesh is yet to focus on cyber security from academic and research perspectives with due diligence. To address the gap, we propose two Master’s programs and a Ph.D. program on Cyber Security from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
