Draft Constitution
We, the alumni of the CSE Department of BUET, in recognition of the need for continued fellowship, support, and advancement of our alma mater and its community, is going to establish BUET CSE Alumni (BCA) Association. Here is the link to the Draft Constitution. We are requesting the alumni to register and attend the upcoming AGM, which will be held on January 17, 2026 to vote to adopt the constitution. Article I: Name and Address
- The name of the Association shall be BUET CSE Alumni Association (BCA), hereinafter referred to as the "Association."
- The principal office of the Association shall be located at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka 1000; or at such other location as determined by the Executive Committee.
Article II: Objectives
The Objectives of the Association shall be:
- To connect and unite alumni living at home and abroad and to foster a spirit of unity, friendship, and loyalty among the alumni.
- To strengthen and promote professional rights of the alumni at home and abroad by acting as a collective and a formal body.
- To play an active role in lobbying for better national and international policies for the field of computer science and engineering and its related developments.
- To provide opportunities to the alumni in professional developments and in career advancements and to promote social welfare of the alumni and to organize social events to foster the social bonding among the alumni.
- To promote research and development in computer science and engineering and its related fields, and to organize seminars, symposiums, and training in this regard.
- To contribute in the development of the CSE Department, BUET, to contribute in the professional developments of young faculty members and staff of the department, and to contribute in achieving educational goals of the current undergraduate and graduate students of the department.
- To liaise with the CSE Department, BUET on behalf of the alumni in order to serve mutual interests and to liaise with the other organizations at home and abroad who have similar interests and stakes like us.
- To sign contracts, acquire assets, raise funds, and incur expenditures in the pursuance of the objectives of the Association and in accordance with the law of the country.
- To undertake any other activity which is desirable for the interests of the alumni, the CSE Department, BUET, and the country.
Article III: Memberships
- Regular Membership: All graduates (Bachelor, Masters, and Doctoral degree holders) of the CSE Department of BUET shall be eligible for the Membership of the Association, subject to their acceptance of its terms and conditions, and paying off the membership fee. They shall be referred to as Members hereinafter.
- Honorary Membership: Regular members shall not be eligible for honorary membership. Past and present full-time faculty of the CSE Department of BUET shall be eligible for the Honorary Membership of the Association, subject to their acceptance of its terms and conditions. In addition, the Executive Committee may award Honorary Membership to individuals for their significant contributions or achievements related to the field of CSE. Honorary Members shall not pay membership fee, shall not have voting rights, and shall not be eligible to be a member of any committee.
