Biography

Sukarna Barua is working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) of Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). He obtained his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the Department of CSE, BUET, in the year 2009 and 2011 respectively. He graduated with a CGPA of 4.00 out of 4.00 and was awarded the University Gold Medal for achieving highest CGPA among all graduates. His research interests include machine learning, data mining, and spatial query algorithms. His research works have been published in reputed venues like IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (IEEE TKDE), ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (ACM CIKM), Pacific Asia Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD), and International Conference on Extending Database Technology (EDBT).
