Our Program

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is committed to providing both undergraduate and postgraduate students a comprehensive education that equips them for successful careers in the dynamic field of CSE. The curricula are meticulously designed to cover a wide spectrum of contemporary and emerging topics, ensuring that students acquire the theoretical, practical, and research skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing technological landscape.
At the undergraduate level, students pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in CSE, immersing themselves in core subjects such as software development, algorithms, data structures, programming languages, computer architecture, operating systems, computer networks, artificial intelligence, cyber security, etc. This foundational program lays the groundwork for future success in various computing-related areas in academia and industries. Moving forward, our postgraduate offerings include three distinct degrees: Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master (M.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). Across these diverse advanced degrees, students can specialize in five key areas: Cyber Security, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computing, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Through rigorous coursework and research opportunities, these postgraduate programs foster innovation as well as prepare the students to become leaders in their chosen fields.
