PG Seminar (CSE-BUET): IMPACTS OF DIFFERENT BENGALI ACCENTS ON CREDIBILITY AND RETENTION PROCESS IN DIGITAL SETTING
Abstract: In modern society, communication between humans and machines has become a fundamental aspect of everyday life. Audio interfaces are increasingly common alongside textual communication in these interactions. Bangla is one of the most frequently spoken of the many linguistic variations. Still, more is needed about how to include it in systems for human-machine interaction, especially about regional accents. Studies explicitly addressing Bangla regional accents are few, even though there are some studies on how dialects affect factors like motivation, credibility, and learning in machine interfaces. My research focuses on understanding the effects of Bangla regional accents in human-machine communication, particularly their impact on credibility, memorization, and preferences. This study aims to provide significant insights into how rhetorical linguistics in communication, the depth of knowledge in communication, and regional accents influence interaction outcomes by analyzing various scenarios involving variations in accent and content length. This study fills in current knowledge gaps and establishes a framework for future developments in the field of human-computer interaction research by comparing local Bangla accents with Chalito Bangla using experimental methods.
